San Antonio, Texas, May 11, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — New Apprenticeship (NEW) is leveraging the power of ServiceNow, a mission-critical IT management platform, to create, run and scale its programs and business operations to better provide skills, various technological talents to American employers. Thanks to the partnership of Externalise and some of NEW’s dedicated IT ServiceNow (ITSN) apprentices, NEW was able to quickly accelerate the implementation schedule.
The value of the platform will continue to unfold over the next 6-12 months and has already enabled NEW’s grants team to use 70% of their time for field work rather than analysis and data entry. NEW initiated the first half of the execution phase with Exterprise, a ServiceNow consulting firm, before handing over the reins to Allen Linatoc, NEW’s ServiceNow architect. Knowing the platform needed to meet the needs of apprentice and employer partners, NEW took the time to design a scalable data model that will grow with the business.
Delante Lee Bess, NEW’s Vice President of Digital Transformation, led NEW’s technology team and collaborating parties through a successful ServiceNow launch. Bess also guided NEW’s own ServiceNow IT apprentices to gain hands-on experience helping with the implementation. These apprentices undergo more advanced training that will allow them to better understand the ServiceNow architecture.
“Understanding the value that emerging ServiceNow talent can bring to businesses, we wanted to capitalize on the remarkable qualities that ServiceNow could create for our own digital transformation experience,” says Bess. “The apprentices helping to execute this transformation are working on projects that provide a better experience for all learners, which creates a dynamic feedback loop. It will also allow learners to be exposed to the intricacies of the CSM application and understand the differences of ITSM (IT Service Management).
Sheheryar Saeed is one of the ITSN apprentices working with Bess’ team. He continues to contribute and gain technical skills by creating new innovative extended applications on ServiceNow through NEW’s experiential learning model.
“We are working on integrating an Agile sprint management system into ServiceNow. In addition to learning more about the technical skills required for the project, we also gain real-world experience with the Agile methodology. One of my favorite parts of the program is that the team encourages us to find answers on our own. It’s beneficial because it allows me to expand my comfort zone. NEW projects the value of productivity by freeing up at least 20-25% of manual time with automation, reporting, real-time dashboards and having a centralized infrastructure shared across all business units.
