Purpose of the position

The M&E Program Manager will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the different activities of the FEED program. Ensure effective and timely implementation of program activities as well as coordinate reporting and documentation.

Position reporting to: MEL Manager

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, review and develop databases for integrated program activities.
  • In consultation with Pillar Managers and Program Officer review, design and develop M&E systems appropriate to the project.
  • Work closely with the Program Officer data entry team to ensure data quality
  • Produce regular reports for M&E work for learning and program development.
  • Guidance and capacity building staff on integrating M&E requirements into their programs.
  • Coordinate and link program M&E data integration / program audit verification for accuracy and consistency and ensure quality to improve accessibility and use of M&E information.
  • Ensure that monitoring and evaluation approaches, methodologies and tools take into account the relevance and impact of programme/development work.
  • Ensure quality assurance of monitoring and evaluation for FEED and its institutional donor funded programmes/projects by documenting and disseminating changes, lessons learned and best practices
  • Work closely with program staff to ensure internal and external program reports meet quality standards and demonstrate change.
  • In collaboration with other officers, coordinate technical studies which include feasibility studies, baseline surveys and evaluations.
  • Represent FEED in planning forums and meetings with government and other stakeholders/partners.
  • Liaise with field teams, hold regular review meetings to assess progress against set objectives and advise management with recommendations on progress in accordance with internal policies, donor regulations and project timelines.
  • Monitor program progress to ensure staff and systems are achieving program goals and objectives in accordance with FEED standards and accountability.
  • Contribute to the development of donor proposals ensuring that respective donor guidelines, preferences, standards, policies and procedures are fully adhered to.
  • Increase the visibility, positive image and credibility of FEED by participating in relevant forums as well as appropriate meetings with other potential international and local donors

PERSONAL AND ROLE SPECIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor in Statistics
  • Relevant experience in development studies or community development.
  • Good knowledge of data management Data entry and analysis
  • At least three years of relevant experience as a program officer implementing community projects.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and budgetary skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Strong verbal and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child protection policies.
  • Good training and experience in project management and project cycle.
  • M&E skills and experience in sustainable programming
  • Excellent computer skills essential.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver the desired result
