Gartner named Commvault a Leader in its 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions.

Seeing the growing challenges IT organizations face, such as ransomware attacks, rampant data proliferation, and increasing security threats, Commvault says they need offerings that not only protect against these threats, but also detect them before they occur.

Additionally, the company says many customers are turning to its offerings to mitigate risk by replacing several point products with Commvault’s built-in software and SaaS product for ransomware protection.

Additionally, Commvault recently added Threatwise to its portfolio, which provides customers with end-to-end proactive and reactive capabilities to strengthen protection against ransomware.

“We know that CIOs keep data protection at the forefront, especially as the adoption of hybrid solutions continues to accelerate across the enterprise,” said Commvault Vice President of Products Rangaraaj Rajagopalan. .

“We help these organizations consolidate their data management, simplify things and reduce their IT expenses while protecting their most valuable asset: their data.

“No one has the workload breadth and depth to handle this across the entire data estate like Commvault and the best part is that we enable it today.

“We believe this is why Gartner continues to recognize us as a leader.”

Commvault also continues to grow its offerings through its extensive partner ecosystem to design and deliver breakthrough products intended to change the face of hybrid cloud for customers.

Most recently, the company partnered with Oracle to include Metal Data Management as a Service (DMaaS) on Oracle Cloud.

As part of Commvault’s multi-cloud strategy, Metallic’s services will be offered on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and available globally in all OCI business regions.

The 2022 Gartner recognition comes after GigaOm named Commvault a frontrunner and top performer in its most recent reports: GigaOm Radar for Hybrid Cloud Data Protection: Large Enterprises and GigaOm Radar for Hybrid Cloud Data Protection: Small and Medium-Sized Businesses .

Each GigaOm Radar Report rates and evaluates vendors based on their execution, track record, and ability to innovate. The Commvault Platform and Metal SaaS Wallet received the highest possible ratings in key criteria of Cyber Resilience, Data Management and Governance, Kubernetes Support, BaaS, and Extent of the solution.

Commvault was also named a Leader and Outperformer in the company’s latest report on backup solutions for Kubernetes-based applications, the GigaOm Radar for Kubernetes Data Protection.

GigaOm gave Commvault high marks as a backup solution that supports more than Kubernetes workloads, making it suitable for hybrid applications that run on Kubernetes, virtual machines, and cloud services, consolidating backup operations on a single platform.

“It’s an honor to have Commvault’s best data protection software recognized for its wide range of services, excellent cyber resilience, and regulatory compliance features,” said Rajagopalan.

“We are committed to delivering our intelligent data services for the widest range of platforms, with flexible delivery models.”
